It’s been 20 weeks since the last Anti-BET post and there’s no better time to bring it back than today….The day after the BET awards. No matter how strong you are, no matter how dedicated you are to this Anti BET movement, the award shows always pull you back in. You’re not alone. I too fell victim to the temptation and sat down to watch the award show. The urge was too strong, I couldn’t fight it. I’m only human.

The show starts and to my surprise the opening is amazing. GOOD MUSIC performs “Mercy” and Kanye gives us a dope verse. I couldn’t believe it. I thought to myself  ”Wow, BET might have really figured it all out…Maybe I was wrong for thinking this channel was nothing but stone cold filth”

Then This happens…..

Nah …. Nope…Not the man who Directed MALCOLM X rapping on stage. I Couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I was livid. I wanted to go get my Do The Right Thing DVD and bite it into pieces.

Then it dawned on me. THIS is why me and my people are 81 weeks strong. THIS was another sign letting us know BET can’t be trusted… No matter what. At First I was angry for letting myself get sucked right back in then I realized this whole thing was a blessing. I had to witness this to appreciate the long road we traveled and will continue traveling.

Thank you BET for proving me right once again and RIP SPIKE LEE. 

(Why no RIP Samuel? Because I didn’t want to. I wanted to single out Spike Lee. Not fair but so what…It’s my site)
